Dallas Network Dallas partial network drop

Our Dallas network had a partial drop at 11:34am BST today (20th May 2018) lasting around 1 minute, we think due to a bug in the Juniper JunOS software we're using.

We will be updating the JunOS software we use in June during planned maintenance to mitigate issues such as this.

Dallas Network Dallas Bi16 network maintenance

Our Bi16 Dallas network will be taken offline for up to 2 minutes at 11am BST today (11th May 2018) for our upstream to move us to a different router line card to resolve the downtime issues we've been seeing.

The only VPS node affected will be DALSKVM3.

UPDATE @ 11:06 - Maintenance has been completed, only 6 ICMP packets were lost so the downtime was very short.

Dallas Network Dallas network partially offline

Our Dallas network is currently partially offline again. We've contacted our data centre for an update, we suspect the cause is likely the same as yesterday.

UPDATE @ 16:32 BST - The network came back up at 16:23 BST. Our upstream gave us the following response:

"This problem is resolved for the time being, our head of networking is in the process of sending replacement equipment to replace the faulty hardware that is going offline. "

UPDATE @ 22:33 BST - Network is offline again for the same reason, data centre is looking into it.

UPDATE @ 22:47 BST - Network is back online. We're engaging with our upstream to find an immediate resolution due to the faulty router causing continued downtime.

Dallas Network Dallas network partially offline

Our Dallas network is partially offline, it's being looked into.

UPDATE @ 18:58 BST - We're waiting on our data centre looking into the issue to find the root cause.

UPDATE @ 19:09 BST - Network is back online, we're still awaiting an update from the data centre to inform us of the cause.

UPDATE @ 20:09 BST - Data centre has told us the cause was was the line card we're connected to in their router going offline. We're looking into ways to get a redundant connection to prevent such a thing being an issue again.
